News Home School Foundation: Helping Children with Special Needs HSF, the charitable arm of HSLDA, is dedicated to finding and helping homeschooling families in need so they can continue in their conviction to homeschool. One of the ways we do this is through our Special Needs Children's Fund. We recently heard from two very grateful families we helped through the Special Needs Children's Fund. The first, a family of nine, wrote: “We were so blessed to receive the gift from the Special Needs Children's Fund. It is hard to express our appreciation in words. It was a true answer to prayer, and a confirmation and encouragement to keep on “keeping on” as we walk forward by faith in the journey that the Lord has called us to. We have never doubted that the Lord will faithfully provide in what He calls us to - this includes adopting five children through foster care in addition to our two birth children, and homeschooling them all! Your gift encouraged us so much and brought tears of gratefulness to our eyes. 1 Thess. 5:19 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks...” We are certainly rejoicing, praying and thanking the Lord for you! Thank you for offering this scholarship to families in need. Again, we want to let you know how much we appreciate your organization and faithfulness in reaching out to others in love and meeting practical needs.” This was followed by another grateful family writing: “We wanted to take a minute to express our gratitude for the Special Needs Children's Fund award. We decided not to pursue obtaining public funding through our local regional center after much prayer and consideration. We felt that we would be obligated to the school district and center if we received financial assistance and decided to withdraw our application for funding. The beauty of homeschooling is that we are able to tailor the curriculum to our children's needs and teach them biblical values.
